A Yearly Time Capsule Event 2023-2024

This really should have happened last month, but hey, I’m dealing with health stuff here, so I’m going to give myself a bit of leeway on this.

Curious to see what I’ve been working on? Me too! That’s why I do this event every year. It can be a bit sad at times, but it also lets me see just how much progress I made as well as where I have room to grow. Health wise, it lets me see how much my health bit into my writing.

The list is short, but here’s what last year looked like, writing wise!

The Accomplishments from August 7th, 2023 to August 6th, 2024

Following my previous time capsule blogs, here is a breakdown of the categories in which I write.

Blogs (18)

Compared to last year, where I had 28, I didn’t do too bad (21 total). Although, that’s only because of Enshrouded. The new game, at the time, had NO ONE posting where to find game lore. I’m a lore / story mode type of player, so this was ESSENTIAL. Anyway, my health meant I couldn’t move much, so documenting lore turned out to be something that I could do, and it gave a lot of people joy. Like I said, no one was doing this, particularly not with photos. So,  productive wise, I did surprisingly well on the blogs.

Last Year’s Time Capsule Goal & My New Year’s Goal

Last year, I decided I didn’t want to make any New Year’s Goals; so, I didn’t. That means, this is all gravy! I love self-care <3 For future me, I wish you the same thing. Just do what you can, but more importantly, do what you love.

Just a reminder that this section is about furthering the advancement of a novel rather than completing one.

Last Year’s Time Capsule Goal

Before my health took a turn for the worse, details available here, I did make some progress on my latest work: Charm of Night. It’s a murder mystery, supernatural thriller with a young girl waking up to see her dead mother in front of her, blood in her mouth, and her father pointing a dagger at her heart. It just keeps going from there, lol. Health meant I didn’t finish the story, mostly because brain fog left me unable to remember important details, even if I had them written down in front of me. Still, 15 chapters is no joke!

I don’t ever seem to have goals regarding short stories. I’m glad. It really takes the stress out of writing.

Areas To Improve

Considering how … uh … fun this past year has been with all the medical issues, doctor visits, ER visits, etc. I’m surprisingly happy and content with this much progress. I have no notes.

Expectations For 2025

Survive. Do what you love. The rest will come in its own time.
