NaNoWriMo - Week 4 Progress

Written by Sarah-Maree

Update time! Again, this is why these blogs aren’t going out as my usual ones. I mean, I enjoy the updates of other writers, but do other writers enjoy updates? What about the small percent of people who read my blog? Do they enjoy updates? Can anyone else tell I’m procrastinating on giving a total?

Once again, I am feeling defeated by NaNoWriMo. I mean, who comes up with this sort of torture? And can I swap and do Inktober instead? (Inktober is where you do ONE ink drawing a day throughout October.) Although, my skills only rarely involve ink, unless you count words inked into paper, which is also rare as I now primarily write on a computer.

If we’re doing a substitute, then I will happily paint a Dungeons & Dragons miniature a day for a month, if that’s an option. I’m very detail oriented, so painting a miniature should totally count as a replacement for the creative outlet of writing or doing an ink drawing. I would not, however, want to craft a book a day. No. Way. My back would break, for sure.

Sorry! I’ll stop rambling, now. My total for week four is, drum roll please, a depressing (for me) 23,761 words. Unless some miracle happens, I don’t think I’ll be finishing NaNoWriMo with 50,000 words. I will, however, be finishing with several rough drafts of different chapters and a fleshed-out plot, and that makes me very happy. Still, we’ll see what next week brings.
